How is the ADAT Exam structured?

The ADAT test structure includes:

  • 200 multiple-choice questions, divided into:

  • Biomedical Sciences (80 Questions)

  • Clinical Sciences (80 Questions)

  • Data Research Interpretation and Evidence-Based Dentistry (40 Questions)

Preparing for the ADAT exam is a crucial step in advancing your dental career. Canadian dental schools have changed from the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK) to the ADAT scores for admission into their dental program for internationally trained dentists. ADAT Exam Roadmap

ADAT Ideal Roadmap

  • Take the AFK course in September.​

​

  • Enroll in the ADAT bridging course in February.​

​

  • Attempt the ADAT exam between March and August

Alternative Roadmap

  • Start with the ADAT bridging course in February.

​

  • Begin the AFK course in March.

​

  • Take the ADAT exam before completing AFK, ideally by August.

Full ADAT Course

  • If you are planning not to take AFK, take full ADAT Course in April and appear for exam by August
