AFK Exam Dates
Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge
The AFK Exam (Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge) is the first step in the NDEB equivalency process for internationally trained dentists in Canada. This exam consists of 200 single-answer multiple choice questions, and is held twice a year, in February and August.
To succeed, we recommend beginning your preparation at least 6 months in advance. At Scholars Dental, we offer two preparation pathways to suit your needs:

AFK Mastery Course – begins 8–9 months before the exam

AFK Essential Course – begins 5–6 months before the exam
If you're writing the February exam, start your course in May (Mastery) or September (Essential).
If you're writing the August exam, start in November (Mastery) or March (Essential).
