What is the
NDEB Equivalency Process?

The NDEB equivalency process is a streamlined pathway for internationally trained dentists to become licensed in Canada. It includes three main exams—AFK, ACJ, and NDECC—followed by the Virtual OSCE licensing exam. This is known as the direct pathway, as it allows candidates to earn their license without attending a Canadian dental school. Alternatively, the university pathway requires completing a few years in a Canadian dental program and typically involves the AFK or ADAT exam, depending on the university. Other, less common routes also exist and can be explored during your consultation.

Should I do the NDEB equivalency process (direct pathway) or the university path?

There are few differences between the two options such as price, duration, timelines and attending a dental school program. Even though we do not believe there is a pathway that is considered "best", there are many factors that can influence which of the two pathways is best for your situation. The good news is, the experts at Scholars Dental can help you make this difficult decision by offering a free online consultation where we learn about your situation, explain all your options, and work with you to create a personalized visual roadmap for your NDEB process.

In the meantime we encourage you to learn as much as you can about the NDEB process from our Youtube channel before your consultation.
