1. In case of a patient with severe pain and allergy of codeine and ASA, can I use meperidine only? Or would it be better to mix meperidine with acetaminophen?
2. Can I choose all kinds of NSAIDs(Ibuprofen, naproxen, and ketoroloc) for pediatric patients? Or Is ibuprofen the only NSAIDs that is able to be used for them?
Thank you so much for your answer! :)
1. Your only choice will be meperidine only. There's no combination drug of Meperidine and Acetaminophen
2. Its SAFER to go for only Ibuprofen if you were to make the choice (Although that template is not as common in the exam as it used to be). However, there isn't a clear set contraindication for these in a healthy child with no allergies. So if you get a prescription with one of these for a child, you don't choose contraindicated.
